Every Glassica piece spends 14 hours in a gas-fired kiln at 1,240°C. Here’s why temperature matters, and how we settled on our process.
Why temperature matters
At lower temperatures clay stays porous — it absorbs liquids, stains easily, and can leach lead from cheap glazes. At 1,240°C the body vitrifies: it becomes dense, food-safe, and dishwasher-friendly.
